HOW TO FORMAT A PENDRIVE USING COMMAND PROMPT


In my last post  HOW TO COPY -PASTE AND CUT-PASTE A FILE USING COMMAND PROMPT i mentioned the steps to copy paste and move a file from one directory/drive/ volume to another and today I will tell you about how we format an usb pendrive using command prompt. So let’s not waste time and come to the point. To format a usb pendrive follow the steps given below…..

# insert a pendrive and go to command prompt or press windows key + R and in the box type cmd and click on ok

# now type- diskpart and press enter, a dialogue box will appear click on ok

# now  type- list disk (enter) > select disk 1 (enter) > clean (enter) > create partition primary (enter) > select partition 1 (enter) > active (enter) > format fs = ntfs quick (enter) > assign (enter)
