DYNAMIC ROUTING ( RIP 1 ) CONFIGURATION USING 2 ROUTERS

Hello friends! So far we have learnt to do static routing and default routing configuration using routers. In my today’s post, I will tell you how we can configure a network using dynamic routing.

Dynamic routing easier than other routing methods as in this type of routing method we only need to define that network’s path to which the router is directly connected.

But dynamic routing can only be performed by 15 routers.

Dynamic routing is of 2 type:- a) RIP 1 b) RIP 2

Today we will discuss only RIP 1. So without wasting time let’s get started…..

# take 2 routers and 2 computers

2 routers and 2 computers

# connect them using automatically choose connection type wire

connect 2 routers and 2 computers

# click on router 1 > config > FastEthernet0/0

# assign it an IP address to it let’s say 1.0.0.1 and turn it on

configuring router

# click on FastEthernet0/1 and give it an IP address let’s say 2.0.0.1 and turn it on

configuring router

# click on router 2 > config > FastEthernet0/0

# assign an IP address to it let’s say 2.0.0.2 and turn it on

configuring router

#  click on FastEthernet0/1 and give it an IP address let’s say 3.0.0.1 and turn it on

configuring router

# click on computers 1 > Desktop > IP Configuration

configuring pc

# assign an IP address to it let’s say 1.0.0.2

configuring pc

# repeat the same process with computer 2 and assign an IP address to it let’s say 3.0.0.2

configuring pc

Here our connection is ready. Now it’s time for routing.

our network

# click on router 1 > cli

# type the following codes:-

Router#en

Router#config t

Router(config)#router rip

Router(config-router)#version 1

Router(config-router)#network 1.0.0.0

Router(config-router)#network 2.0.0.0

Router(config-router)#exit

configuring router

# click on router 2 > cli

# type the following codes:-

Router#en

Router#config t

Router(config)#router rip

Router(config-router)#version 1

Router(config-router)#network 2.0.0.0

Router(config-router)#network 3.0.0.0

Router(config-router)#exit

configuring router

THAT’S IT

This is how we can configure a network using dynamic routing ( rip 1 ). If you have any doubt, suggestion or advice regarding this post please mention it in your comments.
